Cheese and Charcuterie Vending Machine Journey
A cheese and charcuterie vending machine is an innovative concept designed to offer gourmet snacks on-the-go. This was an old dream of ours as we lived our cheesy life in Paso Robles, CA. And not just to have generic selection of product but rather unique.
It's been over 8 month as we lunched our first ever cheese and charcuterie vending machine outside of our business in Paso Robles. It was a "firstborn" so we wanted to keep it close and see how it works, what sells and what doesn't, what problems could potentially arise and how to solve them quickly. Vending business was new to us and we wanted to have an extensive testing period.
We developed unique product line specifically for the vendor. Using vacuum skin packaging technology and paperboards we came up with some fun items, like Central Coast Cheese tasting flight, Taste of Spain - with Spanish cheeses, Taste of France with cheeses from France, Taste of California - with cheeses from Stepladder Creamery, Central Coast Creamery, Point Reyes and salami from Alle-pia.
From the very beginning we wanted to highlight local cheese and charcuterie producers and make it in a convenient way. We feature Central Coast Creamery, Alle-pia Salumi, Stepladder Creamery, Point Reyes Creamery.
Through the trial period we came up with balanced selection of food items. We have savory and sweet nuts, cheese paperboards, salami paperboards, crackers, as well as cheeses by wedge, salami sticks, combination trays and black caviar.
