Cheese and Charcuterie Snacks For Wineries in California

We are doing our part to be more environmentally friendly! Our aim is to use less plastic for packaging our gourmet cheese and charcuterie snacks for our wholesale partners. The wineries and wine bars we work with have asked for more eco-friendly products, and we're happy to say that we've met the demand! With adoption of a sophisticated vacuum skin packaging technology, we are able to reduce amount of plastic use by 80%.

So how does it work? First, we've eliminated the use of plastic trays or plates. Instead, we utilize laminated paperboard which is rescuable or compostable. Secondly, there is no plastic pouch but in its place, a very thin layer of barrier plastic which perfectly covers cheeses or salami - coping the shape of product with no air gaps. At a glance, you'd hardly notice that the cheese is covered at all.

Believe it or not, vacuum skin packaging is not new technology - it has been around for over 30 years! The machine makes the vacuum in a chamber, simultaneously warming up the film. Then the vacuum in the lower circuit is released which brings warm film toward the product and covers product like a skin.

We are excited to use less plastic in our packaging.   and be a more eco-friendly business.
