Boorenkaas Gouda

Boerenkaas Gouda is a type of Dutch cheese that is made from raw cow's milk using traditional methods. The name "boerenkaas" translates to "farmer's cheese" in English, as it is made by small-scale farmers using milk from their own herds.
Boerenkaas Gouda has a rich, creamy texture and a tangy, nutty flavor that becomes more pronounced with age. The cheese is typically aged for anywhere from 4 to 36 months, with older cheeses having a stronger flavor and firmer texture. The rind of the cheese is often coated in wax or plastic to help preserve the flavor and texture.
Boerenkaas Gouda is often enjoyed as a table cheese, sliced thinly and served with crackers or bread. It can also be used in cooking, melted on sandwiches or in dishes such as macaroni and cheese. Boerenkaas Gouda is known for its high quality and is recognized as a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) product within the European Union. This means that in order to be called Boerenkaas Gouda, the cheese must be produced using traditional methods within a specific region of the Netherlands.

We ship perishable items in thermo-insulated cardboard boxes with reusable ice packs to insure that you food items arrive in good shape.
All cheeses we slice to order and wrap in cheese paper as we want you to enjoy original flavor of cheese - not damaged by vacuum or plastic.
All meats which require slicing we slice to order and lay it out on wax paper (deli-style) so it is easy to separate slices. Then we pack it in a plastic pouch with nitrogen purge (again, to make it easy to separate pieces we don't vacuum the meats but use commercial style food grade inert gas mix).

OUTSIDE OF CALIFORNIA: Monday - Wednesday.
Note that the shipping method (for example, overnight) doesn't mean that your order will be processed and shipped on the same day you placed the order. Generally, allow us at least one day for processing your order as we slice and wrap everything by hand to order.
Any US federal holidays may delay the shipment.
