Soft-ripened cheese from France washed in brine and Marc de Bourgogne.
The cheese has a powerful rich flavor with a pungent smell, the pate, a mouth watering taste of sweet, salty and creamy milk flavors. Like many washed-rind cheese, Epoisses smells stronger than it tastes. Its flavors are garlicky, fruity, and mushroomy with a hint of barnyard.
Suggested pairing: a medium bodied red wine such as Burgundy or an Alsatian Gewurztraminer
Ingredients: pasteurized cow's milk, salt, rennet, dairy cultures, Marc de Bourgogne. CONTAINS: MILK.
